Rushlake Green Village Leaf

It's the final countdown . . .

..

Arriving soon on Platform 2.1

After much research and testing, the village leaf website will shortly be transferring to a new platform. The current system (Joomla) was the best available some eight years ago when the village leaf was first created. But now the software is getting very slow and unwieldy, so we're upgrading to WORDPRESS which is now well established for being reliable and flexible.

The new Village Leaf V2.1 will look reassuringly familiar, as we reckon most people won't want to have to navigate their way around a strange website with everything in a new place. But we will seize the chance to do some clearing out - simplifying the content and focusing on the things that most people visit most often - Green Shoots, Green Pages and Local Information.

As we move the Green Pages entries over to the new website, we will use this opportunity to make any corrections or amendments to the information we provide about local organisations, businesses and services. So we will be contacting everyone involved to ask about any changes.

The new software will make it easier to integrate social media with the website, so we can start promoting our existing facebook page more clearly - and encourage more interaction and feedback through that channel.

Obviously improving the website doesn't come without cost, so we will be inviting those who values the Village Leaf to consider making a small donation towards the cost of the changes. Anyone interested in doing so should contact nigel, or email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Locally Borne and Bread

We plan to do a full feature on the Village Shop in our first 'New Leaf' edition. But in the meantime we just have to mention the fabulous selection of artisan breads now available at the Rushlake Green Village Stores. Bobby now has artisan bread on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays. But if you want some you'll need to be nippy as the popular lines are often snapped up very quickly.

RESUSCITUS
